I wondered before whether I could write and draw a graphic novel, or whether I could illustrate a younger children's book. As an artist, it seems a logical thing to try. But I haven't tried yet. The two for me have been separate 'jobs,' I paint something for an exhibition, I write something for a competition.
But now the wonderful people of the Bath Short Story Award have asked me to create a painting for the front cover of the anthology! This is incredibly exciting for me as an artist - and a writer. So, for the first time, I am blogging about a painting on my writing blog - and will blog about my writing on my art one - www.elenash.com/blog
As you can see, my Art Space (official title) is tiny and I am horribly messy, but this is just to show how the cover idea is progressing. The Bath Short Story Award logo is the stone acorns on top of buildings in Bath - read more about why here: http://bathshortstoryaward.co.uk/?page_id=785 Fingers crossed they like my version once it's finished...
